The Martinitoren, or Martini tower, is a Gothic church and is with its 96.8 metres height the highest tower in Groningen. Visitors can climb the towers’ steps to the top. During your climb you will come by the chimes in the bell attic. From the top you have a panoramic view over the entire city. Definitely a fun activity for during your visit to Groningen!
The many courtyards are one of the things Groningen is really known for. There are multiple walking routes throughout the city which will lead you past all the courtyards. One of the most beautiful and oldest in the city is the Pepergasthuis courtyard, that has been there since 1405. Fun fact: the Pepergasthuis is right across the street from City Hotel Groningen.
